Wow! What an incredible read. Bill has managed to bring to life the stories of L.S. Chadwick – ‘The Chadwick Ram’ and A.J. Stone – The Great River & the Black Sheep.’ He made us feel like we were right on the adventure with them. The photo sections are remarkable and entertaining.

When I read Bill’s first book, ‘Dream Rams of British Columbia,’ I was sure that he had set a new high bar for sheep hunting books. But now, after scanning a digital copy of his second book ‘Dream Rams of the North,’ I really am thrilled to say he’s done it again. This is a must have for all sheep hunters, with fabulous quality photos and great new stories by a range of sheep hunters, many of whom I know personally. I first met Bill in the early 90's, manning a booth at a BC Hunting Trade Show. He was promoting Wild Sheep conservation here in the province. A lifelong friendship ensured as well as a shared passion for wild sheep hunting book collecting, so it was only a natural progression that Bill ventured into the world of Sheep Hunting authorship.

'Dream Rams of the North' is Bill’s second sheep book, with the bar set quite high after his hugely successful ‘Dream Rams of British Columbia.’ Those of us sheep hunters and bibliophiles will recognize some of the photos of big rams but very few of the stories that fill this 500+ page tome that honor the rams from BC, Alberta, Yukon, NWT, and Alaska.

‘Dream Rams of the North’ is an inspiring book full of stories and photos. It will be the centerpiece of any collection of hunting books and of special importance to sheep hunters. There are stories and personal accounts from men and women that rose to the challenge of our rugged mountains and brought home trophies for the ages. The tales are riveting and heartfelt. It requires multiple hours of study for the enjoyment of the subject rams and for the depictions of the classic styles of hunting sheep, whether on horse or with backpack. I had the good fortune of acquiring a Conservation edition of Bill’s first book ‘Dream Rams of British Columbia’ and it is a pivotal part of my collection in my trophy room. I often flip through the pages and the sheer beauty of the wooden book box makes it a collector piece like no other. When Bill released his new publication, ‘Dream Rams of the North,’ I immediately reached out to secure my Conservation Edition. To be frank, I did not need to see the content before committing for two reasons. One is the quality of content that Bill has earned a reputation for. Secondly, Bill’s commitment to Conservation with his time, treasure and talent are unmatched, so how can you not support a person like that.

Since then I have had the opportunity to review the next book in the series, ‘Dream Rams of the North,’ and while I would not think he could outdo his first publication, he in fact has. This collection of stories and photographs is again unmatched with over 500 incredible pages. The amazing thing about this book is that while sheep hunters always wish to be on the mountain, this is a replacement for those of us so afflicted with sheep fever. Once again, as an author Bill has put the hard work in and created a book that is unparalleled in so many ways. You will not be disappointed.
